The Zibo Culture Center by Logon Architecture in China

Logon Architecture have designed urban building design of Zibo Culture Center located in Zibo, China. Zibo Culture Centre provides a platform where the city’s urban culture and information can be communicated and shared through various new landmark public facilities and cultural sites.

The Zibo Culture Center is composed of four architecture groups: Culture Exhibition Center, the Knowledge Center, the Community Center and the Zibo Grand Theater. The four architecture building groups divides the Zibo Culture Center into three urban landscapes, the “culture forum” in the West, axis plaza in the middle and the leisure park and the Grand Theater in the East. With distinctive functions of each part and the relationships between the structures, Zibo Culture Center creates an exciting new way for people to interact with the culture of Zibo and a unique leisure space that Zibo people will be proud now and in the future.

The building is organized in three horizontal units. The podium, with a solid and enclosed facade made of locally produced stone, hosts the entrances and supporting facilities. Above this base, the main body floats over the lake and hosts the three main functions: the Opera Theater, the Concert Hall and the Cinema Center. They are encased with a white ceramic facade, and feature a fine structure of windows draped over the surface. Visually, the large glass windows connect the public spaces with the surrounding city. A unique user experience is enabled thanks to the large glass facade in the Concert Hall where the audience’s enjoyment is enhanced by the surrounding park backdrop through the window when attending a concert.
